... then Running With Scissors can come to you. We can bring all the materials and the know-how and you can have a great time chatting and crafting. It's scientifically proven that adding tea and chocolate cake to a craft activity makes a fantastic get-together even better (100% of crafters agree!). You could even swap tea for champagne!

Prices

Each workshop is individually designed to suit you and your group, and some groups are bigger than others so please contact us and we’ll work out a price for you.

Included in the price will be:

• All materials
• I-pod docking station
• Refreshments (non-alcoholic)
• Champagne flutes (if required)

Venues

Workshop Options

Little Owl

An easy- to-make little owl. We can't promise the little fella will make you any wiser, but he's sure to make you smile. An ideal lunchtime activity in your workplace.

Time: 1 hour

Lettered Bunting

Ideal for new baby or as a wedding gift, each person can make a flag to spell out some special text e.g. 'Lily Rose 1st Dec 2010' or 'William and Kate 29 April 2011'. Each person can also stitch their name on the back of the flag so the recipient knows who made each flag. All the flags can be hand sewn and can be created easily, regardless of your sewing experience. We can also attach the flags together to form the bunting using a sewing machine at the workshop so you get to see the finished project. A lovely keepsake gift!

Time: Approx 2hours (depending on the number of flags!)

Sock Monsters

Make your own quirky friend. Easy and fun to do, your cuddly monster will develop his / her own personality and a suitable cheeky name!

Time: 1-2 hours

A-Line Skirt (including pattern making)

During the workshop you will be making a skirt pattern to fit your own measurements, cutting out the fabric and sewing the finished skirt! The skirt is a basic A-Line and you will learn how to put in darts and a zip so that it fits you perfectly! As the pattern will be made to your own measurements you will be able to use it over and over again to make lots more skirts. You will need your own funky fabric to make your skirt, which will also be lined. Pre-information will be sent out detailing the type and amount of fabric. This workshop is for those of you with some experience of using a sewing machine, but want to learn more. A number of sewing machines are available for use in the workshop, or you can use your own.

Time: Approx 10am – 4pm

Patchwork Cushion Cover

Make your own patchwork cushion cover in a 'log cabin style' with our experienced patchwork and quilting tutor Janet Bottomley. Materials can be provided or you can use your own.

Time: Approx 10am -4pm

Patchwork Quilt

Make your own patchwork quilt to your own design and style with our experienced patchwork and quilting tutor Janet Bottomley. Use your own fabrics and create a unique gift for someone special.

Time: 2 days (approx 10am – 4pm)

Natural Bath and Beauty Products

Our best smelling workshop....this bath and beauty products workshop will have you making your very own natural beauty products; using Shea Butter, Sweet almond oil, Cocoa butter, essential oils and a few other ingredients to make 4 products: a honey bee lip balm, mini fizzy bath bombs, a large Sugar Scrub and 2 massage bars. All the ingredients, instructions and equipment are provided at the workshop.

You will also get to keep the moulds for your bath bombs and massage bars and there will be the opportunity to purchase some raw materials after the workshop so you can make lots more lovely products at home (guaranteed to make your house smell wonderful). The workshop is run by our tutor Melissa, who runs Songbird Skincare and has lots of experience in teaching and making natural beauty products.

Time: Approx. 2.5 hours
