Tunisian crochet (sometimes known as Afghan crochet), is a type of crochet that uses an elongated hook, called an Afghan hook. It is often considered to be a mixture of crocheting and knitting as stitches are left on the hook rather than the European crochet technique of completing one stitch at a time. The technique creates beautiful stitches that can be used for blankets and clothing garments.
This workshop will teach you the basic skills of Tunisian Crochet. These skills are transferable to many new stitches and creative crochet projects. Previous crochet experience is not necessary as this workshop starts from the very beginning. If you are already an avid crocheter, then this technique will broaden your repertoire In this workshop we cover the basic techniques and practise them by making a mobile phone sock. This is a small project that can be done on the day so that you can take it home and show off your creation immediately. You can adapt the pattern for any size of cover for tablets and laptops. Once you have learnt this easy method of crocheting you will be addicted as there are many other things you can make such as scarves, cowls, blankets, diary covers, cushion covers etc.
All materials provided on the day so come along, relax, chat, have some me time and learn a great new skill.
