In this popular workshop you will learn all the skills needed to make your own 25cm diameter rolled edge drum lampshade. This 3 hour workshop is instructed by Hayley from Nightingale and lamp (www.nightingaleandlamp.com) who will guide you through the techniques to create your own bespoke lampshade. You will leave the workshop will a stunning finished drum shade suitable for either ceiling or table lamp and the knowledge and method of applying your new found skills to create another shade on your own.
Included in the workshop price is the cost of the lampshade frame, heat proof PVC lining, bonding tapes and the use of the necessary equipment. You will need to bring your own fabric with you which must be at least 100cm wide and 40cm deep. Cotton, linen and light upholstery fabric are suitable. It is best to avoid fabric which is stretchy or too sheer. If you don’t have a specific fabric in mind, you may purchase some cotton fabric from Hayley’s extensive and colourful collection of retro and bold designs from £6 per piece.
If you are inspired to make another shade when you finish the workshop you can buy a kit from Hayley for £10. If you want to perchance fabric and kits from Hayley on the day, please bring cash to do so.
