Sewing Machines for Beginners

Return to Workshops

About this Workshop:

Learn the basics such as getting thread on the bobbin, loading the bobbin, threading the machine and straight and zig-zag stitches. After getting to know your machine you will be able to make a cushion cover with an envelope back (which has no zips and no buttons) to take home and show all your friends.

This is an ideal workshop if you are thinking about buying a machine or already have a machine and are not sure how to use it. If you are starting from scratch or last used a machine at school then this is the workshop for you.

There are five Running With Scissors machines available to use at the workshop, however you can bring your own if you wish. Please note that if you bring your own machine it will be up to you to make sure that it is in good working order and is safe to use. Running with Scissors can not take responsibility for use of machines other than our own.
