Create your own skirt in a day! This workshop is ideal for the dress making beginner. You will learn how to measure length, cut material, sew hems and assemble the perfect summer skirt. You will be creating the 1/2 circle skirt. Our qualified and experienced tutor Helen, will demonstrate how to apply facing to finish off the top of the skirt as well as adding a waste band and inserting the zip. You can then choose how to finish off your own item with embellishments.

This promises to be a fun and relaxed introduction to dress making, resulting in you leaving with a personalised item of clothing, many new skills and tips on professional techniques as well as a new or renewed enthusiasm for sewing!

Teen agers are welcome on the workshop as well as adults crafters. It is preferable to have basic sewing machines skills (as learned on Sewing Machines for Beginners) to do the workshop. This includes being able to thread the machine and do basic straight stitching.

Bing your own material to ensure the finished skirt is one that suits your style and colouring. Photographs have petticoats underneath the skirts to show them off to their full effect.
