Lino Printing

Lino printing is a form of block printing that involves carving a pattern or design into a linoleum, rubber or vinyl surface that can then be used to print designs onto a number of surfaces. This 2.5 hour session will provide an introduction to basic lino printing. It is intended for those with little to no lino printing experience who wish to learn in a fun and supportive environment.
The course will include:
– Learning about Lino cutting tools and techniques
– Design and composition tips
– Learning about inks, paper and the printing processes
By the end of the session you will have produced your own lino print using water based ink and a carved lino sheet which you can use again at home.
Fiona is our tutor for this workshop. She is a local artist that works solely in the medium of lino. Her work is inspired by folklore, medieval woodcuts and the usual.
