"Had a lovely day today on the Willow Weaving Course. Made a fab bowl which turned out so much better than I was expecting! I am really pleased with the finished product."

Sue (April 2024)

"We had an amazing time and learnt so much so thank you"

Rachel, Sewing Machines for Beginners (July 2023)

"Thanks for a brilliant session today. It was a great introduction to using a sewing machine. Megan really enjoyed it and is very keen now to get a sewing machine of her own and get started with some projects!"

Nicki (January 2023)

"Thanks for a great workshop"

Roz, July 2022 – Zips, Buttons and A Bag

"Thank you both very much for the workshop on Saturday, I really enjoyed it, thanks also for adapting my neck line, I’ve also made the dress less A-line as that suits me better and now have the confidence to make another."

– Mary (Dress in a Day workshop)

"I really enjoyed the embroidery course last Saturday and was so inspired, I made a cushion using the appliqué technique when I got home."

– Cheryl (Free Hand Machine Embroidery workshop)

Running With Scissors aims:

  • To provide a quality and contemporary environment to learn craft skills
  • To provide the space and the time to experiment and be creative
  • To reuse and recycle materials wherever possible
  • To encourage people of all ages to craft
  • To have fun

Most of our workshops are product-based so you will be able to take your finished product home to show off your new found skills to your family and friends. Some of our other workshops will show you craft techniques or let you try out equipment so that you can expand and develop a craft technique in your own way.

Here at Running With Scissors we call our workshops “workshops” because it seems more friendly (and less scary) than lessons, courses, classes, programs, modules and especially curriculums (after all we’re not still at school!). We’re more about workshops which are fun, funky, contemporary, modern, exciting and relaxing.

Running With Scissors is about opening the doors to your creativity and having a go at making something with your own hands with like-minded people.

We aim to create a relaxed and encouraging place to try out lots of craft skills with professional tutors. Experimenting is encouraged!
